Setting a State on Your Phone

Summary

You can use the State soft button on your Shoretel phone to let callers know whether or not you are available.

Body

Overview:

You can use the State soft button on your Shoretel phone to let callers know whether or not you are available.

Issue:

Sometimes you are available in your office for phone calls while at other times you are in a meeting, out of the office or on vacation and cannot take phone calls.

This is how you set your availability state.

Resolution:

1  Press the State soft button above the number keys on your phone.

2.  Select the option for the State you wish to set.  If you select any option outside of 1 - Available, the orange lights on your phone extensions will turn on and that new state will be in effect.

3.  When you are back from your meeting or vacation, press the State button once more and press option 1 - Available to turn off the unavailable option.

Notes

  • Each availability stage has its own Voice mail greeting so you can go into Voice mail and set a greeting for that state.
  • When the unavailable state is enabled, the phone ringer does not ring - the caller goes directly into voice mail.
  • Callers will still be logged in your Caller History in the order they called in.
