Setting Up Your Microsoft Account
Who's Eligible to Request This:
Studenta, faculty and staff who need to configure their Microsoft account for use for MFA.
Special Information:
Make sure your phone number is in your Microsoft account - do so by:
1.Go to https://office.microsoft.com
2. On the top right corner of the page is a person icon (also called Sign In to your account, if you hover over it with your cursor). Click on this.
3. Sign in with your @steu.edu email address and your password.
4a. If you have not set up a phone number, you will get a More Information Is Needed prompt - follow the prompts to add your cell phone number.
4b. If you don't get a prompt for more information and it sends you a verification code, enter that. Your account is already set up in the event you do ever have to reset your password.
Once you are logged into Office 365, you can go to your account settings by clicking on your initials on the top right corner of the screen and click on the View Account Settings link in the Security Info box. The Update Info link will take you to the page where you can see/edit your cell phone number.
